Police suspect that the victim was suffering from depression
Kolkata: An Opala Dey (27), a research scholar of Jadavpur University and a single mother of a four-year-old girl, allegedly jumped onto the metro railway tracks to her death at the Park Street station on friday, disrupting services for nearly an hour.
The incident occurred at 7.04 pm when the woman allegedly jumped before a Kavi Nazrul station-bound train which was coming from Dumdum, Metro Railway sources said here. The body was badly mutilated
Police suspect that the victim was suffering from depression.
Train services resumed at 7.57 pm before which shuttle services were run between Dumdum and Girish Park in the north and Tollygung and Kavi Nazrul in the south, Metro sources said.
